Jenkins Township is a very business-friendly community.  We are home to one of Pennsylvania’s fastest growing business parks and work in cooperation with our local, state, and federal officials to create an environment that cultivates economic growth across many business sectors.

Our greatest business asset is our exceptional location.  We offer very quick access to Interstates 81 and 476 and are situated between Northeastern Pennsylvania’s two largest cities, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.  This convenient location allows our employers to maximize their labor draw.  More than 465,000 people live within 20 miles of Jenkins Township and there are 16 colleges and universities with 47,000 students within an hour’s drive. Our region is also known for having some of the most productive employees in the nation.

The part of our Township that is enjoying the most business activity is a large area near S.R. 315, just off Interstate 81 at Exit 175.  CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park, developed by Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services, and has experienced tremendous growth since its opening in 2006.  Our township supervisors have been instrumental in the park’s success.  Their approval of the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance program (LERTA) for all parcels in the park has helped to attract dozens of companies and thousands of jobs.  A few of CenterPoint’s employers include Benco Dental, Geisinger Health Plan, Lowe’s, Home Depot, The Men’s Wearhouse, Neiman Marcus, J.P. Boden, Isuzu North America, Pepsico, Cintas, Safelite Auto, Lesjofors and Maxximus.
